2010 Season Preview

The Allentown Iron Pigs finished the 2009 season strong and just missed advancing to the 2nd round of the playoffs. The Pigs clearly had the upper hand against the Dodgers Manager Centrone did not give up and brought his team back to win the series 4-3.

This hit Pigs management hard, and decided to be very busy during the first trading period. The Pigs were happy with their minor league system before the period, and decided to balance it out by making several trades involving their top prospects.

Some of the major trades were:

IronPigs get: SS Derek Jeter, 3B Brandon Inge, RHP Carlos Marmol

River Bandits get: OF Grady Sizemore, RHP Micah Owings, Dante Bichette, Jr.

Twins get: LHP Derek Holland, OF Travis Snider

Ironpigs get: RHP Ryan Dempster

Ironpigs get: 1B Derrek Lee, LHP Andy Pettitte

Knights get: SS Jose Reyes, LHP Brett Anderson, RHP Jordan Lyles

The Pigs also sent OF Trevor Crowe for 50K and
paid 35K for Lefty Dennys Reyes.
